I used General Finishes water-based stain in Espresso on the exterior: just a light pre-sanding needed. The stain gave great coverage in 2 coats and absolutely no smelly fumes! The interior was Bin’d and then I used leftover latex paint to paint the drawers. The top drawer’s front was cut off, then reattached using 2 continuous hinges on the bottom of the drawer and drawer front. A magnetic latch on the side ensures the drawer stays in place when it’s folded up. The handles were a Target clearance item. The project total came in at about $85.00, and I got exactly what I wanted!
