An organized life.

I am a highly organized person – to fault, I’m sure some would say. But I struggle with procrastination, and often I let the need for “perfect” organization immobilize me from doing anything at all. When I picked up this book, I thought it would be another ‘how-to’ with new tricks. I was pleasantly surprised to find that the author (a professional organizer) is equally interested in helping the reader figure out the underlying why that blocks maintaining effective, long lasting organization. Her theory is by getting to the emotional root of disorganization, the reader can process and understand the issues and then create a system that works on an individual level. She knows we aren’t cookie cutter versions of each other, so cookie cutter systems can set us up for failure.

I’m enjoying this book and I look forward to delving deeper into the “why I do what I do…or don’t do.”
